grannie's garden

I will always remember the garden that took up most of the backyard at my grandparents' house. They grew everything! Grandma used to give me a plastic shopping bag and send me out to pick snap peas and green beans. Usually by the time we got home most of them were gone, happily eaten during the car ride home.

Grannie spends a lot of time every summer tending her organic garden on the south side of town and we were lucky to be able to join her this weekend and help her with the start of this year's garden

Now if the gophers and bunnies stay away we will be munching on peas, purple beans, red, orange, and yellow carrots and have tomatoes and beets aplenty to can for the winter!
